The smart green energy in Brazil
Bioelectricity is a new solution, much more sustainable than fossil fuels. There a large number of crops that can become fuel but when compared with other field crops, sugarcane has an advantage. After its harvest, the sugarcane's straw stays on the soil, and provides a natural protection against erosion and weeds, reducing the need to use pesticides. Another byproduct of the sugarcane plantation, the vinasse, is used as a natural fertilizer, and can generate electricity through biogas. That is, in sugarcane everything is used, nothing is wasted.
